Working under the supervision of the ambulance captain, responsible for pre-hospital medical care at emergency scenes. 


Drives to the scene of an emergency; assesses the situation; establishes communication with emergency room personnel and provides medical aid. 

Complete appropriate state, EMS, and City/County billing forms after ambulance call. 

Must remain within a five-minute (5) response time of the station when on-call. 

Must meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position.  Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player. 

Applicants may be required to submit to a criminal background check and fingerprint report. 


Applicants must live within a five (5) minute response time to the station. 

Must be able to lift up to seventy pounds individually, unassisted, and lift heavier weights with assistance - weights vary according to weight of patient being attended. 

Must obtain and maintain EMT certification with the state of Utah. 

Must pass city physical. 

Must have a valid Utah State driver's license. 

Must attend Wednesday night meetings each week, with at least 60% attendance throughout the year. 

Must cover at least 80% of their assigned shifts throughout the year.
