Under general supervision of the Parks Division Manager, performs general duties related to the operation and maintenance of the gun club.
Ensures that patrons and employees are following safety procedures.
Using chronograph or radar gun, adjusts targets to meet ATA requirements.
Operates cash register, collects and deposits monies.
Orders office, restroom, cleaning and food supplies as needed for operation. Also orders and stocks shells, targets, reloading components, trophies, and items for the pro shop. Maintains accurate inventory and stock of targets and shells.
Processes pre-squading forms, organizing squads according to skill level and special needs.
Organizes, schedules and oversees part-time employees for weekly operations and trap tournaments.
Coordinates correspondence and advertising of gun club facility and events through flyers and programs in mailings and email. Uses computer program to outline and layout programs, produces mailings and address labels. Also coordinates updates on the city’s website with information on leagues, ATA shoots, hours of operation and pre-squad forms.
Prepares and submits ATA reports including statistical information and fees for each event. Prepares and submits name, pictures and statistical information on winners of each event to Trap and Field Magazine.
Solicits advertising sponsors for gun club events. Bills and collects fees for advertisements on gun club flyers and programs.
Uses computers to enter and post scores, to squad those who have registered to shoot, to keep score sheets, make trap assignments and to balance and write checks from funds.
Ensures that all trap machines are in good condition for upcoming shoots, opens trap houses, hooks up voice calls and pull cords, retrieves trap counts, changes traps from singles to doubles as needed.
Organizes, oversees and helps with hauling and loading of targets to and from houses.
Organizes and oversees the parking of trailers for shoots.
Ensures that the gun club facilities and grounds are kept clean and safe.
Ensures that all hard surfaces being used are free of ice and snow.
Troubleshoots and solves problems that arise pertaining to parking, power, shooters, trap help, and computers.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all city policies and procedures. Must work well with others and be a team player.
