Position: SFCN Network Engineer
Salary: $62,000 - $93,000

Working under the supervision of the Information Systems Director, this position will work with various networking systems and technologies in use by SFCN in order to provide the best possible networking services to Spanish Fork City, its residents and businesses.
Maintain, troubleshoot and repair core and internal networking equipment. Must be able to use, configure and operate HP, Cisco, Juniper and Huawei network devices.
Coordinate with headend personnel and plant technicians for networking changes.
Maintain Cable Modem Termination Systems (CMTSs) in use by SFCN.
Install and maintain FTTX network switches and equipment.
Assist in designing and deploying new network infrastructure.
Must be able to respond outside of regular business hours on occasion when networking issues arise that need to be addressed.
Work with others, including the public, with a professional positive attitude and with good communication skills. Must be a team player.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Must be able to meet attendance and punctuality requirements for this position. Must abide by all City policies and procedures.

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in related field plus four years of experience in the networking field. Industry certifications preferred.
Thorough knowledge of routers, switches and firewalls along with good experience with security as it pertains to network architecture, servers, firewalls and routers.
Knowledge of the OSI model and ability to understand complex networks and perform network analysis in order to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
Special Qualifications. Networking Certifications helpful. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus and see small objects.
